Terrence Cardoz, an award-winning filmmaker and owner of Divine Line Productions, known for his international film location expertise, has declared Cuba as the new favorite destination for Bollywood film tourism. He states that the Cuban Embassy in Delhi is ready to assist with any film location needs in Cuba.

Recently, at the invitation of the Ministry of Tourism Mr. Juan Carlos Garcia Granada, Cardoz visited Cuba to explore its potential for film tourism. He shared his experience with the Newztabloid team, stating, “I was hosted by Gran Muthu hotels and traveled across Cuba, visiting Havana, Cayo Coco, Holguin, Santiago, and Varadero. I was impressed by the hospitality of Muthu hotels.”

When asked why he favors Cuba, Cardoz responded, “Cuba is a gem in the world of tourism, offering much to tourists who love beaches and nightlife. While most visitors to Cuba are from Canada and Mexico, Cuba is now inviting the world, including India, to explore its beauty. Old Havana, in particular, offers amazing locations for music videos.”

Bollywood has already begun to embrace Cuba, with a song from “Ek Tha Tiger” filmed in the stunning locales of Havana, and pop singer Honey Singh recently shot a music video there.

Cardoz also expressed his concern about obtaining permissions for action sequences to be filmed in Cuba. He had a meeting with the team responsible for shooting the Hollywood film Fast and Furious 8 in Cuba and was assured full support for any kind of shoot by the Cuban Tourism Minister, Mr. Juan Carlos Garcia Granada.

Cardoz emphasized the importance of film tourism, stating, “We ensure that the beauty of the destination is well captured in the film and we insist the filmmaker to mention the destination in their film and during the film promotions. We strongly believe that film tourism not only boosts tourism but also investments and trade in any country.”

During his visit, Cardoz met with Ms. Ariana Alvarez, a top Cuban actress, who expressed her excitement about being part of any Bollywood venture in Cuba.

The Cuban Tourism Minister has extended a warm welcome to India for tourism and filming in Cuba, assuring that the Cuban Embassy in Delhi will provide all necessary assistance for any projects. The management of Gran Muthu hotels in Cuba has also pledged support for Indian guests, even employing an Indian chef to cater to their culinary preferences.
