~ The initiative empowers women to tackle all kinds of emergencies ~
On the eve of International Women’s Day, Hiranandani Hospital, Vashi – A Fortis Network Hospital, announced the commencement of month-long initiative ‘BeBoldForChange’ that would empower women to tackle emergencies. More than 100 housing societies from across Navi Mumbai will be reached out to deploy demonstrations on managing an emergency that may arise at home and peripheral areas. Hon. Maya More, Senior Police Inspector, Crime Branch, Navi Mumbai, Hon. Jyoti Suryavanshi, Sub PI, Head – Anti-terrorist Cell and Coastal Security, Vashi, Hon. Prabhakar Gade, Chief Fire Officer, Navi Mumbai, Ln. Upendra Bhalwal, Homemaker & wife of Lion Clubs Governor along with Dr. Vandana Gawdi, Senior Consultant Obstetrics & Gynecology and Dr. Manisha Bobade, Facility Director, Hiranandani Hospital, Vashi – A Fortis Network Hospital supported the launch ceremony of the month-long ‘BeBoldForChange’, hosted at the hospital today.
Through these training camps, medical staff from Hiranandani Hospital, Vashi – A Fortis Network Hospital, will train and equip women to manage crisis situations within their homes and the peripheral areas, through Basic Life Support training, First Aid administration and Childcare workshops.
Chief Guest Hon. Maya More, Senior Police Inspector, Crime Branch, Navi Mumbai at the ‘BeBoldForChange’ event, said, “For women who spend a larger chunk of their time at home, at work, travelling etc., this camp is a progressive step in empowering them to deal with all medical and non-medical emergencies. This demo camps will thereby build them as enablers to those in need of aid, while medical and non-medical help arrives. This furthers the fact that enabling a women, enables her family”.
Dr Manisha Bobade, Facility Director, Hiranandani Hospital, Vashi – A Fortis Network Hospital, who is leading the ‘BeBoldForChange’ campaign, said “With the ‘BeBoldForChange’ campaign, our aim is to empower women in protecting themselves and saving & enriching lives of their families and communities during crisis. Conducting such training programs at regular intervals for varied target groups will build a cohesive and responsible society. We at the hospital work for the betterment of the community and will continue to contribute by hosting events to build socially-responsible behavior amongst Navi Mumbaikar’s”.

Societies for JNPT, ONGC, SBI, RBI, CIDCO, RCF, BOI, Syndicate, BPCL and NRI, panning across Vashi, Sanpada and Koparkhairne will benefit from the ‘BeBoldForChange’ camps. An approximate of 4,000-5,000 lives will be touched through this initiative that will then be spearheaded by women, for their families and communities.
